At some point in time nearly everyone has to deal with some form of sciatic nerve pain. At any given time, four out of 10 persons are dealing with sciatic pain.
It’s typically on the lower area of the spine and travels upward through the pelvic region and the buttocks. Then, it will divide and branch down past the hip, through the leg and knee and onward down to the feet.

Try to avoid aggravating the nerve as it heals. If you’re uncomfortable sitting, get up and move around a bit to help stretch out those muscles and relieve the pain.
While it may seem opposite of what you need, gentle exercise will go far in helping to ease the pain and discomfort of sciatica pain. Just make sure that you’re not overdoing it. That would make the pain worse.
The body requires exercise in order to function properly. Gently moving and stretching those back muscles and that sciatica area will go far to help ease pain and prevent it from returning.
Be sure to drink plenty of fluids and stay hydrated as well. A hydrated body will hurt less. Work on building up the muscle by doing some core exercises.
Use acetaminophen or ibuprofen short term for pain and to reduce inflammation and swelling. Focus on standing tall and walking and sitting properly as well to reduce pain.
